Aptamer-based DNA nanoswitches for multiplexed protein detection
Kovvali, S.; Beckles, C. A.; Chandrasekaran, A. R.; Halvorsen, K.
AbstractSimple, modular platforms for detecting biologically relevant proteins are critical for applications in clinical diagnostics, healthcare, and research. Here, we have combined aptamer-based protein recognition with our conformationally-responsive DNA nanoswitches to enable simple, sensitive and specific protein detection. We demonstrate dual detection of two clinically relevant blood proteins, thrombin and VEGF as initial proof of concept.
